Welcome to my cozy little corner of writing and creativity!
I get questions all the time about the tools I use for writing, organization, and running my author business—and I thought it might be helpful to gather them all in one place. These are things I actually use, love, and often recommend when asked.
Some of these links are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you decide to grab something through them—at no extra cost to you. That support helps me keep writing stories about cozy small towns, fated mates, and the kind of love that heals. ♡
Whether you’re a fellow writer, a reader who loves a good bookish or organizational gadget, there’s a little something here for you.
My Writing Must-Haves:
Google Docs – This is what I write in. It’s free and can be accessed from any device.
Vellum – This is what I format my books with. It’s so easy to use!
Canva – I use them to create all of my graphics.
MailerLite – This is who I use as a newsletter provider.
Pomodoro Timer – I use this timer to make sure I’m not sitting too much. I set it for 25 min to type/work and then take a 5 min break.
BookFunnel – This is what I use for finding group promos and/or newsletter swaps with other authors, sending ARCs to readers, and for distributing my ebooks I’m selling direct.
FourthWall – This is the company I now use to host my direct sales store with. They are a global merchant of record, which means they handle ALL taxes for me and is my reason for going with them vrs Shopify or Payhip.
ProWriting Aid – This is what I use to edit and revise my books after have read through them multiple times by myself and before sending them off to my editor.
BookSprout – This is where I post up my Advanced Reader Copies to gain early reviews and help spread the word about my stories.
Bullet Journals – I blame Elana Johnson for my love of this style of notebook. She sent everyone who signed up for her course one in the mail one year and I fell in love.
Blue-light glasses – This is a double pack. I have a pair at my desk and on my nightstand.
Post-it Notes – I’m a nerd for Post-it notes! They’re always all over my desk. I have them in multiple sizes and colors.
These Pens & These Pens – These are my favorite right now! They both write so smoothly!
Cozy Writing Space Essentials:
This Desk Chair – This is the one I use. I like it because it doesn’t have arms so I can sit any way I want, even cross-legged.
Seat Cushion – I also use this cushion sometimes, because I’m not going to lie, sitting so long makes my tailbone hurt sometimes.
Step Stool – I’m short (5ft 2), so I also have a step stool under my desk to make things more ergonomic for myself. 😆
Tea – This is my favorite tea! I drink it daily with a little coconut oil, a splash of milk, and a little vanilla-flavored bone broth powder blended in.
Organizational Things:
Artful Agenda – This is my digital planner, and I would be lost without it! It syncs between my computers and phone. Also, it’s so pretty! (If you’re interested in giving it a try, here’s my referral code: Rj101890)
RecurPost – I use them to schedule all of my social media. I bulk create and schedule this each Wednesday for the following week.
That’s everything (for now!)
I’ll keep adding to this page as I discover new tools or fall back in love with old favorites. Thanks for checking out my little list!
